Habit #3 “Drink Good Water Daily”

What percentage of your body is water? Have a guess………

It’s between 55% and 80%. So how important do you feel it is to drink good water?

What do I mean by good water?

Water that is natural, hasn’t been processed, reverse osmosis’ed, demineralised or treated in any way, which will denature it and or have additional vitamins and minerals removed.

What does that truly mean?

Your drinking water should have a pH (Potential Hydrogen) of about 7.2-7.4 and contain around 300 parts per million (PPM) in mineral solids.

Vittel, Evian, Volvic, Fiji, Buxton are some of the world’s best waters. Having said the above, the down side is most are contained in a plastic bottle labelled 1 PETE. (See Plastic below)

Disease is the result of vibrational disturbances at a subatomic-particle level, triggering the disturbance at the atomic level, which causes the disturbance at the molecular level, then the cellular level and finally at the level of the organs according to Dr Masaru Emoto.

Drink long before you feel thirsty. As a guide drink ½ your body weight (Lb’s) in fluid ounces (there are 35.2 fluid ounces in every 1 litre) Or your Body weight in Kg’s x 0.033 = how much water to drink in litres. Read Dr Batmanghelidj’s book “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water”, 1997.

Below are some essential, simple drinking HABITS:

• Drink at least two glasses of good water (1 litre+) as soon as you wake up and take some Probiotics for a month

• Sip good water throughout the day

• Drink then wait around 20 minutes before eating

• Drink 1+ hour after eating

Do NOT eat and drink at the same time, this dilutes the HCL (Hydrochloric Acid) in your stomach as well as reduces essential enzymatic reactions, which break down your foods, efficiently so as to be fully utilised by your body.

What’s the colour of your Urine? Yellow can mean you’re dehydrated, or you’ve consumed some B complex vitamins!

NB If you do drink water that has been through a reverse osmosis system, add a pinch of Celtic, Himalayan or Hawaiian Salt (one pinch of salt for each litre) If your water is a little too acidic then also add a pinch of any of the above essential salts.

Here’s a simple healThy Tip Bit – If you add salt to your water and you taste it, you may have added too much! Everyone is different to the level or concentration of salt which is required for their true Optimal Health.

I would like to thank Vreni Gurd for the Plastic information below.

Plastic water bottles are very convenient for carting water around when we are on the go, as they don’t break if we drop them. It is worth paying attention to the type of plastic your water bottle is made of, to ensure that the chemicals in the plastic do not leach into the water. If you taste plastic, you are drinking it, so get yourself another bottle.

To be certain that you are choosing a bottle that does not leach, check the recycling symbol on your bottle. If it is a #2 HDPE (high density polyethylene), or a #4 LDPE (low density polyethylene), or a #5 PP (polypropylene), your bottle is fine. The type of plastic bottle in which water is usually sold is usually a #1 PETE, and is only recommended for one time use. Do not refill it. Better to use a reusable water bottle, and fill it with your own filtered water from home, and keep these single-use bottles out of the landfill.

Unfortunately, those fabulous colourful hard plastic Lexan bottles like Nalgene, made with polycarbonate plastics and identified by the #7 PC recycling symbol, may leach BPA. (Bisphenol A, is a xenoestrogen, a known endocrine disruptor, meaning it disturbs the hormonal messaging in our bodies). Synthetic chemical endocrine disruptors are particularly devastating to babies and young children. For more of the science on the effects of BPA on our endocrine system etc.

Nalgene, the company that manufactures the Lexan bottles also makes #2 HDPE bottles in the same sizes and shapes, so we do have a viable alternative. Check the recycling numbers on all your plastic food containers as well, and gradually move to storing all food in glass or ceramic.

Store water in glass, Stainless steel or brass if possible, and out of direct sunlight.

With love and Gratitude

PS Many Westerner’s dis-eases, like arthritis, IBS, Colitis to name three, have be linked to dehydration. People are just not drinking enough water daily! They ‘forget’ to create this beneficial habit. What really is stopping them from drinking good water daily?
