This time of year evokes strong feelings of hearth and home, and many of those are connected with food. With Thanksgiving approaching, you may think of indulgence and excess, but Fall food can be very healthy.

We decided to take some of our favorite Autumn flavors and mix them up into a nutritious and comforting smoothie bowl.

Pour the smoothie into a bowl and top with granola, apple and peach slices. Sprinkle with pumpkin seeds and drizzle with honey and Panaseeda Five Seed Blend.

Ingredients:

Smoothie:

  • ½ cup natural almond butter
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup organic apple cider
  • 1 cup frozen organic mixed berries

Toppings:

  • ½ peach, sliced
  • ½ organic apple, sliced
  • ½ cup granola
  • 1 tbsp raw pepitas (shelled pumpkin seeds)
  • 1 tbsp organic raw honey
  • 1 tsp Panaseeda Five Seed Blend

As always, this Activation recipe is loaded with health benefits. Here’s a breakdown of how these ingredients can improve your health:

  1. Almond butter is loaded with antioxidants (specifically lots of vitamin E) as well as magnesium and potassium. It can help to lower LDL cholesterol levels and blood pressure levels, making it great for your heart.
  2. Bananas contain significant amounts of magnesium, manganese, potassium and copper and are a good source of vitamins B6 and C. They help to aid digestion and provide beneficial bacteria to support gut health. Bananas can help to balance your blood sugar after a meal and can reduce insulin resistance.
  3. Organic apple cider is high in flavonoids, which are free radical-fighting antioxidants. It’s also a source of potassium and dietary fiber, and can help to lower LDL cholesterol and improve digestion. If you can buy unpasteurized from a local farmer, all the better.
  4. Peaches are prebiotic, plus they’re chock-full of vitamins and minerals. Their high antioxidant content reduces oxidative stress, supporting your immune system.
  5. Apples are great for brain health and development and can help to prevent neurological conditions like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Apples can help to prevent blood sugar swings, can lower cholesterol, encourage proper blood flow to your heart, promote liver detox and boost your immune system.
  6. Pumpkin seeds (pepitas) are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber and support your heart and immune system. They are beneficial for prostate health and for postmenopausal women. Pumpkin seeds have anti-inflammatory properties and they help to encourage restful sleep because of their high magnesium content.
  7. Raw, organic honey is used in many natural health solutions, like cough syrups and sleep aids as it has antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It also supports your immune system.
  8. Panaseeda™ Five Seed Blend is a fusion of 5 nutritious seeds in one premium oil, with benefits like soothing inflammation, supporting muscle and skeletal development as well as supporting red blood cell health. Get this amazing oil and boost your healthy fat intake, as well as your absorption of fat-soluble vitamins today!
